PURGATORIO
Hello! So, reading "Purgatorio" has been taking me a lot longer than "Inferno", I suppose i just like reading about suffering :) yes well, I did find the gruesome descriptions of hell quite a lot more compelling than the boring cliffs of the mountain. But, to be fair, it has been getting more interesting the higher up they're getting. I am on like the, 23rd canto currently? They're on the second to last circle i think. Anyways yeah, "Inferno" was a lot more gripping to me, clear from the fact i read it in a couple hours, while its been 5 days since i started reading "Purgatorio".

INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE
OK I know i finished reading this a while back but I just need to express how much I love the vampires. They're so unnecessarily dramatic. Sleeping in coffins for basically no reason? The capes? The walls full of grotesque paintings? They're perfect. Lestat just. filing his nails while his father is sobbing and begging him for forgiveness? SO real, Lestat. What did he even do to you. I, too, love my long nails!!

ok I haven't written in a bit but I've been reading quite a lot today, trust!! So, lets get started
INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE
Finished reading it today! Lestat is such a pathetic sad man........... oh well, that's what you get I guess! The ending was quite crazy.... I suppose the interviewer left to go find Lestat then, it's quite captivating. But not quite captivating enough to make me continue with the series. Would i reccomend this book? If you like vampires, ABSOLUTELY! It's totally awesome, and, you know, with the last vampire book i read being the three first twilight books it was quite a breath of fresh air to see vampires being evil and DRAMATIC and, well,,, VAMPIRES. Gosh darn it if you're writing about monsters then let them be monsters! Make me think about the HORROR of it!

THE INFERNO
So, I did in fact begin reading the inferno today, and finished it as well,,,, I may be a bit obsessed, let's say it like that. One of my friends (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE) has been ranting about The Divine Comedy for weeks now, so i figured I'd read it once done with interiew with the vampire. And well, lets just say,, haha,,,, IM GOING INSANE. IM GOING FERAL OVER THIS BOOK. I got the book at noon because before then i was at school and at the library finishing interview with the vampire, and by the time i got to reading it it was nearly 2 pm already. But before I even realized it I had read half the book, and well, then i thought, its not even evening yet! Surely I can finish this book today! And well, I was right. Probably because after starting to read it I haven't wanted to do anything other than read more. I have already started on Purgatorio. My greatest challenge right now is that I CANT GO BACK TO THE LIBRARY UNTIL MONDAY. And I currently only have inferno and purgatorio loaned! Quite frankly, i expected it to take me around a week, at least, to read the inferno alone. And yet... here I am.... Well you know, it wouldn't be such an issue (I have other books to read and other activities to do besides reading!) if I wasn't in a reading competiton with said friend.... But now theres no way I'll win. I'm completely and utterly stuck at purgatorio until monday morning. And they aren't. ............,,,,,.,,.....,.,.............,,,,,,,,
Well, to be fair the book is a bit hard to understand so I might also just reread it. (or read dantilio fanfic..........)(WHO SAID THAT)

PURGATORIO
Vergilius washing Dante's face.................. oughhhhh................ im so sick about them..............,.,.,............,,,,,,,,,,,,...

INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE
I don't like Interview with the vampire much anymore. The thrill has worn off and its gotten, quite frankly, a bit boring. I forgot to write about this before but Claudia's case is so tragic to me. The moment Lestat started making her into a vampire i GASPED. To live eternally? Perhaps horrible, but it can surely have its pros. Being stuck in a childs body? As you mature? Gain life experience, knowledge, and stay in the body of a toddler? It sounds horrifying. And now Claudia seems to really feel it too.

INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE
HIII omg i feel like i read so much today but it was only like 70 pages and a magazine. SO. I'm over halfway through interview with the vampire now. So, Lestat died. He came back. Covered in scars. Louis and Claudia are in europe. Can't wait to see what they see in Paris, do they see any parisian vampires??? Claudia was mean as hell to be honest When Louis was distressed already and she was like "Hehe i wonder how they were made.... Imagine how many you could've accidentally made... lol." And Louis was just bawling his eyes out.

[UNSPECIFIED LITERATURE MAGAZINE]
On another note, in the library i go to there's these literature magazines, ive been looking at one for a while because the cover was fascinating but i finally picked it up and DAMN. It started right off with a poem and, see the thing is, ive never liked poetry much. Most that ive ever read has just fallen a bit flat. But this contains poems that like. that are GOOD. I like them. I may need to look more into poetry.

Yes it's a separate entry for the same day, i wanted these the books to be in chronological order.
INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE
Well, im currently at around 60 pages but UGH i love these guys.... i love vampires... i love vampires... i love vampires... vampire... vampire...
OK so actually, i love this book so much, the vampirism is so fun and its so refreshing just recently having read 3 whole twilight books. I forgot what its like to read about not-stupid vampires........... Lestat is a pretty big bitch but he seems to be protrayed overwhelmingly positively in fanart and stuff so I'm guessing he has some improvement arc then. Louis is kinda wet cat tbh. The way he was begging to be killed, just absolutely sulking and then Lestat tried to kill him and he started promptly kicking and fighting back. That's so real. Literally me. AND WHEN THEY HAD TO SLEEP IN THE COFFIN TOGETHER. One thing i dont get is why do they have to sleep in coffins. Whats so special about a coffin specifically. Like, if its just a wooden box? Does that not work? They don't care about crucifixes or anything but a non-coffin box to sleep in? No way.

THE DECAMERON Hi! Welcome to my blog :) Specifically, this is where I'll be writing about books im reading/have read. Lets start with my most recent read, "The decameron" by Boccaccio.
So, quite frankly i found it a bit boring. the short stories were generally fun but uncompelling, I found myself really having to force myself to continue reading. And perhaps it being basically an anthology is what made it less interesting, it's hard for me to get into a story when there really is no story. By the end though , there were some stories that i did find funny, but i fear that may be overshadowed by the amount of misogyny :) Oh well, what do you really want from a book written in the 14th century.
So! Would i reccomend it? Sure, IF you like short stories and giant books because at over 600 pages in my copy, its a real chonker. It's a nice look into the medieval period but not very interesting, If you're looking for a fun story to spend some time this probably isnt your book, as despite being a comedy its actually a remarkably good replacement for melatonin.
