The Magnus Archives

I am known to be a big fan of the Magnus archives, this page is dedicated to my love for this media.

So, what is the Magnus archives? The Magnus Archives is a weekly horror fiction anthology podcast examining what lurks in the archives of the Magnus Institute, an organisation dedicated to researching the esoteric and the weird. The Magnus Protocol is its sequel, set in an alternate universe where the Magnus Institute burned down in Manchester in 1999.

My favourite concept of The Magnus Archives is the Entities. It is just such a fascinating idea to me, a malevolent force, existing only to cause you suffering. And it is winning. Well, and the aesthetics of it are also very pretty, aren’t they?

The Fears are considered to be: The Buried, The Corruption, The Dark, The Desolation The End, The Eye, The Flesh, The Hunt, The Lonely, The Slaughter, The Spiral, The Stranger, The Vast, The Web and The Extinction (although this one is slightly disputed).
In reality, they aren’t as clearly distinct. Manifestations are rarely just one or the other. Separate Entities are just a nice sort of concept for us to think about them more easily.
Out of them all, my favourite ones have to be The Flesh (I’m very into flesh imagery ), The Corruption, The Spiral and The Slaughter, although I’m a big fan of all of them.
